Do I need permission to install a sewage treatment system?
Some sewage treatment installations require specific permits or licenses to discharge, depending on the size of the plant, the site it will be installed on and where in the country the site is located.
Many installations will not require a ‘permit to discharge’, but if you are based in a groundwater protection zone, you will need to apply for a permit. This is based on location, and how much effluent is being discharged.
We have a dedicated team responsible for handling all applications and permits through your Local Authority and/or the Environment Agency/SEPA if required. We will fully explain all application costs prior to completing the work, and we will remain in touch with you throughout the process to keep you aware of completion dates.
