Do pump stations get easily blocked?

The pumps that are supplied with pump stations vary in terms of their quality – generally the more expensive the pump, the more heavy-duty it is, although this isn’t always the case!

Pumps can get blocked fairly easily, and even grinder pumps (which are designed to grind solid items) can still get choked with items that shouldn’t enter a pump station. Our engineers often encounter pumps blocked with baby wipes, nappies, rags and sanitary items – generally, all that should be entering a pump station is water, human waste, and toilet paper.
