Does a pump station run constantly?

Whenever a customer is looking to purchase a pump station, one of the first questions relates to the running costs. Luckily, pump stations are designed so the pumps only activate once the liquid reaches a pre-determined level. Once the pumps have effectively removed the fluid to a level where it drops below the float, the pumps will turn off again.

The float will be set at a specific height by your installer, and means that while the pumps are operating correctly, there should never be a risk of the pump station overflowing or backing up into your toilets or sinks.
