The Klargester BioDisc Loss of Rotation Alarm is a monitoring device designed for use with all Klargester BioDisc sewage treatment systems. Its purpose is to continuously monitor the rotation of the BioDisc media pack and provide an alert if the discs stop turning or fail to rotate at the correct speed.

The rotation of the BioDisc media is essential to the biological treatment process. If the drive system, motor, gearbox or chain assembly develops a fault, the discs may stop rotating, reducing treatment efficiency and potentially leading to system performance issues.

How It Works

The loss of rotation alarm monitors the movement of the BioDisc assembly during operation. If rotation is interrupted or stops altogether, the system sends a fault signal to the Klargester control panel.

When a loss of rotation is detected, the control panel will display:

F8 - Loss of Rotation Fault

This warning provides an immediate indication that the drive system requires inspection or maintenance.

Benefits

  • Early identification of mechanical issues
  • Helps prevent further damage to drive components
  • Maintains efficient wastewater treatment performance

Why Is a Loss of Rotation Alarm Important?

The BioDisc treatment process relies on the continuous rotation of the media discs to expose bacteria to both wastewater and oxygen. If rotation stops, treatment efficiency can quickly deteriorate. The Loss of Rotation Alarm provides an early warning, enabling corrective action before more significant operational issues occur.
